Canada Visitor Visa from Pakistan: Document Checklist

By Abundant Visas ·

A Canada visitor visa is decided mainly on the documents you upload. A complete file that tells one clear story is the best way to avoid a refusal.

The short answer

Apply online through your IRCC account. Upload your forms, passport and supporting documents. Pay the visa fee and the biometrics fee. Then give your fingerprints and photo at a visa application centre.

Step by step

  1. 1

    Check your passport

Your passport should be valid for at least 6 months from your travel date. It needs at least one blank page that is not the last page.

  2. 2

    Fill in the forms

Complete the visitor visa application form (IMM 5257) and the Family Information form (IMM 5645). Every applicant fills in their own forms.

  3. 3

    Gather your documents

Upload clear scans of documents that support your trip.

    • Bank statements for the last 6 months
    • Employer letter from the last 3 months, or business registration
    • Travel history such as old passports and previous visas
    • Travel plan with your dates
    • Invitation letter if you are visiting someone, with proof of your relationship
    • Marriage certificate if you are married
    • English translations of any documents in Urdu
  4. 4

    Explain anything unusual

If your file has a large recent deposit, a gap in work or a previous refusal, explain it in a short letter. The officer may not ask you about it, so explain it up front.

  5. 5

    Apply and pay

Submit your application online. Pay the visa fee and the biometrics fee at the same time.

  6. 6

    Give your biometrics

After you apply you receive a biometrics instruction letter. Book a visa application centre appointment and give your fingerprints and photo. Your application is not processed until you do.

What happens next?

IRCC may ask for an interview, more documents, a medical exam or a police certificate. Follow the instructions you receive. Processing times change, so check the current time for Pakistan on the IRCC website.

What does it cost?

  • Visa fee: CAD 100 per person, paid to IRCC.
  • Biometrics fee: CAD 85 per person, paid to IRCC.
  • Service fee: only if you use a consultant. At Abundant Visas it is PKR 30,000 per applicant.
