Spanish Language Courses

Spanish is one of the kinder languages to start. Spelling follows pronunciation closely and the vocabulary overlaps with English more than most students expect. The difficulty arrives later, in verb tenses and the subjunctive, and that is where a structured course earns its place.

DELE and SIELE

DELE is the diploma issued in the name of the Spanish Ministry of Education and administered through the Instituto Cervantes. It is awarded per CEFR level, from A1 to C2, and once you hold it, it does not expire.

SIELE works differently. It is a score-based test taken on a computer, it reports your level across the four skills in a single result, and that result has a validity period. Universities and programmes name the one they accept, so confirm that before you book either exam.

What level you need

  • A2 to B1 is enough to manage daily life and to join a language year before a degree.
  • B2 is the usual expectation for an undergraduate programme taught in Spanish.
  • Many Master's programmes in Spain are taught in English, and they ask for English evidence instead of Spanish. Daily life, housing and part-time work still run in Spanish.
  • Some programmes admit at a lower level on the condition that you finish a Spanish course in your first year.

Where learners actually struggle

Pronunciation comes quickly. Verb conjugation does not: Spanish changes the verb ending for every person and tense, and choosing between the two verbs for "to be" (ser and estar) trips up learners long after they think they have it.

The subjunctive mood, which has no real counterpart in the English most Pakistani students use, is the point where progress slows. It is also the point B2 exams test hardest, so it is taught early here rather than left to the end.

How our courses run

Level-by-level classes aligned to the DELE syllabus, with the exam taken at the close of each level while the material is fresh. Listening is practised with real speech from different regions, because the Spanish heard in Spain and the Spanish in Latin America differ in accent and vocabulary, and exam recordings draw on both.
