German Language Courses

German is the language where the certificate is most often a hard requirement rather than an advantage — for a study place, for a work route, and for family reunion, where the level is written into the rules.

Which level you need

  • A1 — commonly required for spouse and family reunion visas to Germany.
  • B1 — the level often associated with vocational training routes and settlement.
  • B2 — general entry point for German-taught study, and useful for work.
  • C1 — what most German-taught degree programmes actually ask for.
  • English-taught programmes waive the language requirement for admission, but not for living there, and not for the part-time work students rely on.

Goethe, telc and the university exams

Goethe-Institut and telc certificates are the widely recognised general proofs of level, and they are what visa routes normally name.

University admission is a separate track: German universities typically want TestDaF or the DSH examination rather than a general certificate. These are academic language tests, pitched differently from a Goethe B2, and preparing for the wrong one is a costly detour.

How long it takes

Each CEFR level is a meaningful block of study hours, and German's case system means the early levels are slower for English and Urdu speakers than the hours alone suggest. Reaching B2 from nothing is realistically a year of consistent work, not a summer.

Applicants aiming at a German intake should start the language well before the admission process, not alongside it.

How our courses run

Level-by-level classes following the Goethe and telc syllabi, with exam preparation in the final weeks of each level so the certificate is taken while the material is fresh. Speaking and listening are weighted heavily, since those are the sections Pakistani candidates most often lose marks in.
